GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College women's lacrosse team fell to William Smith College Friday, 19-5.
The Herons (1-3) took a one-goal lead before
Kirstin Norris and
Alexa Besch scored to put the Pride up 2-1.
WSC then scored four unanswered goals before Norris tallied her second goal of the afternoon to pull Greensboro within 5-3.
The Herons scored three more goals to go into halftime up 8-3.
Over the final 30 minutes, the Herons outscored the Pride 11-2 en route to the victory. Norris scored her third goal of the afternoon during the half, while
Natalie Ritchey tallied her first.
"We struggled to get anything going today," Head Coach
Christie Hebert said. "We have to be better on both ends of the field, but we will work on things to get ready for our next opponent."
Kaleigh Hemstock took the loss after making six saves.
Megan Cenate also recorded one save.
