GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College women's lacrosse team fell to the Hornets of Lynchburg College Wednesday, 10-9.
Kirstin Norris scored the first three goals of the game before
Natalie Ritchey put the Pride (5-2) on top 4-0.
The Hornets then pulled to within 4-2, but Ashlyn Parks quickly extended the lead back out to four with two unanswered goals.
After the second goal by Parks, Lynchburg scored its fourth goal of the afternoon before Norris sent Greensboro into halftime up 7-4, with her fourth goal of the day.
The Hornets then outscored Greensboro, 4-1, over the first six minutes of the half tying the game at 8.
Following another Lynchburg goal, Parks tied the game once again before falling by the one goal margin.
"We fought hard today, and played one of our best games of the season on both sides of the field," Head Coach
Christie Hebert said. "If we can keep the same pace for the remainder of the season, we are going to come out on top.
"I am super proud of every girl on the team, and that is truly how we play Greensboro College lacrosse even though we came up short."
Norris finished with a team-high five goals, while Parks netted three goals. Ritchey, who had one goal, had a team-high two assists.
Kaleigh Hemstock took the loss despite making eight saves.
