FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- The Greensboro College men's basketball team won a double-overtime thriller at Methodist University Saturday, 113-105.

Methodist (7-13, 3-6 USA South) jumped out to a 20-5 lead before the Pride (13-8, 7-3 USA South) used a 10-6 run to pull within 24-15.
Donavan Griffith, who tallied 20 points in the game, accounted for seven of the points, while
Parris Scales recorded the other three.

Greensboro then pulled within 37-32 after a
Simeon Howard layup before going into halftime trailing 49-43.

After intermission, the Pride pulled to within one point before the Monarchs extended their lead back to double figures at 71-60.

The Pride trailed 85-71 with three minutes left in regulation before they used a 19-8 run to tie the game at 90 with 15 seconds left.
Joseph Gatling and Howard each scored eight points during the run.

The two teams each scored 10 points in the first overtime before the Pride pulled away late in the second overtime to secure the victory.

"This was an awesome win for our players and staff as we all showed a lot of heart and determination," Head Coach
Bryan Galuski said. "Both Simeon and Joseph were excellent tonight, and Hamilton did an unbelievable job on defense and controlling the offense. On the defensive side, Donavan showed he can certainly be a game changer. …

Gatling finished with a team-high 33 points, while Howard recorded 29 points.
Parris Scales finished with 20 points.
Hamilton Hawkins, passed for a team-high 11 assists, tying the school's single-game assist record.
