SALEM, Va. – The Greensboro College baseball team split a double-header with the Maroons of Roanoke College Sunday.
Greensboro picked up an 8-1 win in Game 1 before dropping Game 2, 15-2.
Roanoke (5-2) scored a run in the first inning before the Pride (4-9) tied the game in the fifth inning. J.P Lisk walked with one out, advanced to third on two passed balls, and scored on a
Brandon Soden single.
After
Kyle Willard pushed the Greensboro lead to 2-1, the Pride exploded for six runs in the sixth inning to extend its margin to 8-1.
Zach Neumeister,
Brian Robbett, and Andrew Milian each recorded RBI hits.
Following the big inning, Adam Murrray, who pitched the entire game, shut the Maroons down.
The Pride tallied 15 hits in the game. Soden and
Andrew Ray each recorded a team-high three hits, while Milian, Neumeister, and Robbett each had two hits.
Roanoke then defeated the Pride 15-2 in the second game.
Daniel Efrid,
Cody York, and Ray combined for Greensboro's three hits.
Jeff Waring took the loss for the Pride.
