MARYVILLE, Tn. – The Greensboro College women's basketball team dropped a heartbreaker, 56-54, to LaGrange College Thursday in the first round of the USA South Women's Basketball Tournament.
LaGrange raced out to an 11-5 lead before the Pride used a 8-0 run to pull ahead 13-11.

After trading baskets, the Pride took a 17-16 lead into the second period following a
Monica Smalls layup.
The Panthers then regained a two-point lead midway into the period, but the Pride established a 29-24 lead, following a 7-0 run, before going into halftime up 32-26.
Alexis Hite gave Greensboro its largest lead of the game just 40 seconds into the third period before the Panthers pulled to within 42-40 following a 7-0 run.
LaGrange scratched its way back to within 46-45 but Greensboro responded with an 8-0 spurt, extending its lead back out to nine.
Heather Burton,
Marla Crawford, and Carbone each recorded a basket during the run.
But over the final five minutes, the Panthers outscored the Pride 11-0 to secure the win.
Carbone finished with a team-high 11 points, while Smalls tallied 10 points.
Courtney Pearsall pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds, while Crawford passed for seven assists.
