GREENSBORO, N.C. – In a game that saw 15 ties and 9 lead changes, the Greensboro College women's basketball team fell to Montreat College Saturday, 67-60.
 
Neither team was able to pull out to a lead larger than two points in the first period until the Pride (4-6) took its largest lead of the game at 24-20 with 8:30 left in the second period, following a 6-0 run. Katie Lewis scored the first three points of the run before Kylee Barry capped it off with an old-fashion three-point play.
 
After Greensboro established the four-point margin, the Cavaliers were able to outscore Greensboro 10-4 over the final six minutes of the second half to take a 30-28 halftime lead.
 
The Pride quickly regained the lead in the early part of the third period, but Montreat was able to pull away late for the seven-point victory.
 
"We really struggled with eliminating the second chance points tonight and that really hurt us," Assistant Coach Reggie Hines said. "Moving forward into conference play, we have to do a better job of limiting the second chance points and points in the paint.
 
"If we can do that, I feel like we will be very successful."
 
Lewis had a team-high 12 points, while Kamerin Williams had 11 points and a team-leading eight rebounds. Rasheika Gregory finished with nine points. Marla Crawford dished out a season-high nine assists.
