GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Greensboro College football dropped its 2016 season finale to Maryville College Saturday, 70-14.

The Pride (1-9, 0-7) struck first after capping off a seven play 73-yard drive with its first touchdown.

Meleck Thornton carried the ball three times before getting the ball into Scots (8-2, 6-1 USA South) territory, setting up the touchdown play. Following Thornton's three yard rush,
Mac Graham connected with Tavares Thomas from 49 yards for the touchdown.
Ryan Campbell added the point after attempt, giving Greensboro a 7-0 lead.

However, Maryville came back with 14 straight points to gain a seven-point lead.

Following the Scots second score, Greensboro put together a 17 play drive that took over nine minutes to tie the game.

After Greensboro pushed the ball deep into Maryville territory,
Mac Graham found Tre Jackman-Wells for a nine-yard touchdown to pull the Pride even following the extra point. The touchdown was Jackman-Wells' first career touchdown.

Despite battling hard, Greensboro fell by the large margin as Maryville scored the game's final 56 points.

"I am extremely proud of our guys as the competed with one of the best teams in the conference," Head Coach
Greg Crum. "This season did not go the way we wanted, but the guys never gave up.

Graham finished with 140 yards passing and two touchdowns. Thomas recorded 102 yards receiving on four receptions, while
Matt Romanowski and
Steven Abosaid had two receptions each.
Herbert Bridges pace the Pride defense with 14 tackles, while
Garratt Brannock,
Connor Earp, and
Trey Cronin each had double figure tackles.
