GREENSBORO, N.C. – Greensboro College had four players score in double figures as the Pride defeated the Battling Bishops of North Carolina Wesleyan Wednesday, 91-53.
With the Pride (8-6, 4-1 USA South) trailing 6-2, Greensboro opened a 14-6 lead after a 12-0 run.
Monica Smalls tallied six of her eight total points during the run, while
Courtney Pearsall,
Kamerin Williams, and
Bryanna Stanton recorded two points each.
Wesleyan (6-9, 3-3 USA South) then pulled to within 14-11 just three minutes into the second period, but the Pride outscored the Bishops 15-2 over the next three minutes, establishing a 29-13 lead.

Heather Burton capped the run with a three-point play.
Greensboro then took a 36-21 lead into the break.
To open the third period, the Pride slashed through Bishops' defense on a 12-0 run to extend its margin to 48-21.
Greensboro then established its largest lead of the game at 83-49 following a Stanton free throw before going on to the 38-point victory.
"I thought that today was a good game for us," Head Coach
Randy Tuggle said. "We were able to play a lot of people with no one playing more than 20 minutes. This is how we need to play to win, and I hope we learned that. I am very happy with today's result."
Pearsall finished the game with a team-high 17 points and eight rebounds.
Alexis Hite chipped in 14 points, while Stanton (12) and Joyner (11) also recorded double figures.
Marla Crawford passed for a game-high seven assists, while
Monica Smalls and Joyner each recorded one block.
The Pride shot 53 percent (33-62) from the field and connected on six three-pointers.
Kenyata Harris led the Bishops with 18 points, while Nadiya Holley chipped in 15 points.
