Danville, VA —
Tori Belcher had a big day for the Greensboro College Pride recording 32 digs in the first of the two matches of the day at the Cougar Classic hosted by Averett University.Belchers efforts helped lead her team to a 3-1 victory against Emory & Henry College before topping Randolph College to close out the day, 3-1.
Against the Wasps of Emory & Henry,
Brandy Johnson contributed a team high 12 kills in the match while
Vannesa Marquez and
Shayla Moss each added eight of their own.
Greensboro College stared the match on a good pace by taking the first set by a tally of 25-14 before falling in the second set by a score of 20-25. The Pride quickly righted the ship taking the final two sets to secure the victory.
In the second match of the day, Greensboro College faced off against the Randolph College Wildcats, where
Tori Belcher again led the team in digs with 18. The match was decided three sets to one in favor of the Pride for a second victory in as many matches.
Shayla Moss led the way with 11 kills while
Megan Baranko and
Brandy Johnson each added nine kills.
Meredith Summers also added eight.
The Pride dropped the first set, but quickly took control of the match by winning the final three sets to secure the victory.

Tori Belcher was awarded All-Tournament Team for her efforts over the two day tournament. Greensboro improves their record to 2-2 on the season and will be back in action on September 9
