Baseball Closes Season With A Pair of Defeats

ZEBULON, NC- The Greensboro College baseball team dropped both games in a doubleheader against Piedmont College, 7-4 and 4-2, respectively, on Saturday.

First Game

Piedmont took an early lead in the first inning scoring three runs. Scoring was quiet for The Pride through the first four innings.

Piedmont kept their lead extending it to, 6-0 leaving the fourth inning. The Pride got on the board in the fifth inning by scoring their only two runs. Jordan Powell hit a single bringing in both Brandon Soden and Andrew Hernandez to cut Piedmont's lead to 6-2.

The scored stayed at 6-2 until the eighth inning where Braedon Jewett hit a single scoring Adam Murray then Cody York singled sending Kyle Williard in.

Going into the ninth inning the score was 6-4 until Piedmont put one run on the board, later giving themselves the 7-4 win.

Second Game

Before the second game Austin Hardin, Kristopher Peeden and Jordan Powell were honored for their senior day.

The game was scoreless through the seventh inning. Piemont got on the board first during the eighth inning scoring one run. Piedmont later got the 4-2 win in the ninth inning scoring three more runs. Greensboro did get on the board with two runs scored by Kyle Willard and Tyler Henderson in the ninth inning. 

Greensboro finished 11-26 overall and 10-20 in the conference  for the season.
