Men's Lacrosse Ends Season With Loss In First SEILC Tournament

DEMOREST, GA – The Greensboro College men's lacrosse team wrapped up their season with a 9-7 defeat in the first round of the SEILC Tournament against Huntingdon College.

Charles Stringfellow gave Greensboro an early 1-0 lead when he was able to beat the Hawks keeper after getting a feed from Blaine Wise. Just seventy seconds following the Stringfellow goal, Tamarie Sterling recorded his fifth goal of the season to push the Pride advantage to 2-0.

Later in the period after Huntingdon tied the game at 2-2, Matt Weir gave the Pride a 3-2 lead heading into the second quarter of play.

In the second quarter, the Hawks would score the frames only goal to send the game into the halftime break tied at 3-3.

After falling behind by a 5-4 mark at the end of the third quarter of play, Greensboro could not get any closer than one goal falling by 9-7 score.

Denis Radcliffe tallied three goals on the day to lead the Pride while Drew Farrell, Charles Stingfellow, Tamarie Sterling, and Matt Weir added one goal each.

Cody Cunningham took the loss between the pipes for the Pride.
