Women's Lacrosse Downed Late By Guilford

GREENSBORO, NC – The Greensboro College women's lacrosse team (8-5) traveled across town to take on the Quakers of Guilford College on Wednesday afternoon. After falling behind early in the game, Greensboro was draw even but could not hold on falling 15-13.

Guilford jumped out to a 3-0 lead just three minutes into the contest before the Pride was able to get on the board.

Natalie Ritchey and Nadya Fedun pulled the Pride to within one goal at 3-2 before Guilford struck again extending the deficit to 4-2.

Following the goal by the Quakers, Kirsitin Norris found the back of the net for the first two  times on the day to draw the Pride even before Fedun gave the Pride their first lead of the game at 5-4.

Later in the period with the score tied 6-6, Ashlynn Parks and Alexa Besch recorded two goals to once again give the Pride a two goal lead at 8-6. However, the Quakers were able to draw the score even at 8-8 heading into the intermission period.

Coming out of the halftime break Greensboro scored two unanswered goals just ninety seconds inot the new half. Ritchey and Besch each recorded one goal.

As the game wound down, Greensboro found themselves trailing but came back to tie the game at 1-12 before falling by the 15-13 mark.

Alexa Besch recorded a team high four goals on the day while Kirstin Norris chipped in three , Nadya Fedun, Natalie Ritchey, and Ashlynn Parks each added two goals apiece.

Kaleigh Hemstock took the loss in goal for the Pride despite making fifteen saves.
