Pride Women's Lacrosse Falls In USA South Semi-Finals

ROCKY MOUNT, NC – The Greensboro College women's lacrosse team (8-6) fell in the semi-finals of the 2015 USA South Athletic Conference Tournament on Friday afternoon to Meredith College by a 20-19 score.

Meredith jumped out to a early 2-0 lead just three minutes into the game before the Pride was able to cut the deficit in half following a goal by Natalie Ritchey off a feed from Nadya Fedun.

As the open half progressed, Meredith was able to extend out their lead to four goals at 6-2 before Greensboro outscored the Angels 6-2 over a eleven minute span to tie the game. During the run for the Pride, Ashlynn Parks tallied three goals while Kirstin Norris chipped in two goals.

Over the course of the final five minutes of the half, Meredith was able to take a 11-9 lead heading into the break.

Coming out of the intermission period, Meredith scored the half's first three goals before Natalie Ritchey scored two goals within a two minute span to make bring the deficit down to three goals at 14-11 with 20:00 showing on the clock.

Following a goal by the Angles to make the score 15-11, Kristin Norris and Nadya Fedun each found the back of the net once more to pull within two goals at 15-13.

Later in the period the Pride was able to rally back to tie the game at 19-19 following four unanswered goals before Meredith tallied the game's final goal with 16 seconds remaining to preserve the 20-19 win. Ashlynn Parks, Natalie Ritchey, and Nadya Fedun (2) each recorded at least one goal during the run.

Despite a 13 save effort, Kaliegh Hemstock took the loss in goal for Greensboro.
