EMORY, VA – The Greensboro College softball team (9-8) dropped a pair of games to the Wasps of Emory & Henry on Wednesday afternoon. The Pride rallied in game one but fell short falling by a 7-3 score before dropping game two 7-4.

In the first game of the day, the Wasps took a 7-0 lead heading in the fifth inning of play.

In the top half of the fifth inning, Madison Crisco got the Pride on the board when she scored following an Emory & Henry miscue in the field.

With the Pride trailing 7-1 heading into their final at bat of the game, Jackie Nicholson placed her single into center field scoring Allyson Yeager and Crisco. After the Pride pulled to within four runs at 7-3 they were not able to pull any closer.

Sarah Connolly, Jackie Nicholson, and Allyson Yeager each recorded two hits in the game while Dawn Harris took the loss in the pitching circle.

After dropping game one, the Wasps were able to take the lead early in game two with two runs in the bottom half of the first inning.
