DANVILLE, V.A. - The Greensboro College softball team dropped a two game doubleheader against Averett University on Saturday afternoon. The Pride fell 10-1 in the first game of the day before dropping game two by a 9-0 mark.
In the first game of the day, Jackie Nicholson scored the lone run for The Pride in the second inning, falling by a 10-1 score.
Allyson Yeager, Jackie Nicholson, and Madison Crisco accounted for each of the Pride's three hits in the game.
Dawn Harris took the loss for The Pride throwing four out of the five innings.
In the second game, The Pride did not have the chance to score any runs in the five innings they played. Lauren Miller took the loss for Greensboro throwing one inning.
In the second game Brittany Rush, Sarah Tompkins, and Crisco each recorded a hit.
"We came out flat and couldn't regain momentum against a solid team. We didn't show the resilience I know we have and it took its toll on us in the end," said Head Coach Becky Bishop.
With the two losses, The Pride fall to 7-5 overall and 1-3 in the conference. Greensboro travels to N.C. Wesleyan tomorrow to play at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
