RALEIGH, N.C. – The Greensboro College women's basketball team returned to USA South Athletic Conference play Sunday as they defeated Meredith College, 67-51.
With the Pride (5-4, 2-0 USA South) leading by three in the first period, Greensboro used a 14-4 run to establish a 21-8 lead.
Shamara Richardson,
Courtney Pearsal,
Marla Crawford and
Da Jah Joyner each recorded at least one bucket during the run.
Once Greensboro established that lead, the Angels (2-5, 0-2 USA South) pulled to within eight before the Pride took a 33-23 lead into the intermission.
Meredith pulled to within eight points in the third period, but the Pride throttled their way to a 16-point victory.
"This was the most complete game that we have had all season," Assistant Coach
Jennifer King said. "Everyone came in and did a good job contributing and executing the game plan."
Hite finished the afternoon with a team-high 10 points, while
Marla Crawford contributed eight points.
Kamerin Williams,
Heather Burton, and Pearsal tallied seven points each. Williams recorded a team-leading 10 rebounds.
