ROCKY MOUNT, NC – The Greensboro College volleyball team traveled to take on the Battling Bishops of North Carolina Wesleyan College in a USA South Athletic Conference matchup. The Pride rallied back from an early one set deficit but fell by a 3-1 mark.
The Pride dropped the opening set of the match by a 25-20 mark before evening the match at 1-1 with a 25-22 set two victory. Once Greensboro evened the match, the Bishops then topped the Pride in the next two sets by identical scores of 25-16 to close out the match.
"We need to be more consistent all around," stated Head Coach
Kaci Pike following the match. "There are great moments happening, but we have to find a way to string them together and finish."
Breana Baker led the way for Greensboro with a team high thirteen kills on the night.
Evan Sherer contributed eight kills while
Brandy Johnson recorded six.
Haley Bohrer and
Darrian Bolt combined for 39 of Greensboro's 41 assists on the night.
Breana Baker collected 16 defensive digs to lead the Pride.
Greensboro (6-17, 3-10 USA South) will return to action on Friday evening. The Pride will square off with the Scots of Maryville College at 5:00 PM before wrapping up the weekend with Covenant College on Sunday morning at 10:00 AM.
