The Pride men's soccer team (1-1) fell to Roanoke (2-0-1) 2-0 on Saturday afternoon. This was the first game of a two day tournament being played in Lynchburg Virginia.
Both teams used a strong first half effort on defense to keep the score at 0-0 going into the half. Greensboro held a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks during the half.
In the second half, the Maroons found the scoreboard with a goal in the 69th minute for a 1-0 lead. Roanoke tacked another goal on in the 75th minute to win the game 2-0.
Greensboro was outshot 16-10 on the day. Shaun Watt led the way with three shots, two which were on goal. Robbie Barnes and Marco Figueroa had two shots apiece.
Logan Rohde made six saves in goal for the Pride. Greensboro held a 5-4 advantage on corner kicks.
Greensboro will look to rebound tomorrow when travel to take on Lynchburg University. The kickoff is slated to begin at 4:00 p.m.
