MARTINSVILLE, VA--- The Greensboro College Pride men's soccer team traveled to the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament on Friday afternoon. The top seeded Pride men faced off against the fifth seeded Maryville College in a semi-final matchup. Greensboro College fell in the contest by a 2-0 count.
Greensboro College had several chances in the first few minutes of the opening half, but could not convert. Maryville College was able to break the scoreless tie in the 21st minute of play taking a 1-0 lead. Later in the half, the Scots were able to find another on a penalty kick to take a 2-0 lead into the intermission break.
Greensboro College was able to continue to apply pressure in the second half, but could not capitalize falling by a 2-0 score.
The Pride was outshot in the contest by a 14-9 count. Isaiah Nji led Greensboro College in shots with two. Morgan Stevenson, Shaun Watt, George Dimopoulos, Craig Gage, Scott Fatyol, Rene Mendoza, and Drew Clukey all added one shot each.
Logan Rohde took the loss in goal for the Pride despite making five saves.
The Pride men's soccer completes their regular season with a 12-7 mark.
