ROCKY MOUNT, NC – The Greensboro College Pride men's basketball team concluded a perfect 2-0 weekend at the Roger Taylor invitational hosted by North Carolina Wesleyan. The Pride defeated Wesley on Saturday evening before closing out play today with an 85-67 victory over Maryland Bible College.
The Pride opened the game on a 12-0 run over the first four minutes of play and would not look back. Devan Gregory got the run started for Greensboro before Raheem Martin was able to cap it off with his second basket of the run.
Greensboro College then continued to add on to their first half advantage for the remainder period taking a 42-22 lead into the halftime break.
The second half of play proved to be a reflection of the first as the Pride was able to keep the large margin winning 85-67.
"I am really proud of our team's effort this weekend," said Pride Head Coach Bryan Galuski. "Our team is beginning to grow and come together as a team. This was a great weekend for the Pride."
For the second game in a row, the Pride was able to connect on over 42 percent of their shots from the field. Greensboro College also held a 32-26 advantage in the rebound category with 17 of them coming on the offensive side of the court.  
Simeon Howard had a game high 19 points for the Pride as Devan Gregory and Brandon Pascucci also added double figures. Pride big man Edric Roberts finished the day with eight total points and a team leading 6 rebounds.
At the conclusion of the game, Devan Gregory and Simeon Howard were named to the All-Tournament Team for their performances at the two day event.
Greensboro College improves their overall record on the young season to 3-2. The Pride men will have a ten day break before their next contest. Greensboro College will travel to the Greensboro Coliseum on December 10th to take on NCAA Division I member University of North Carolina Greensboro. The game will get underway at 11:30 AM.
