Wilson claimed his third straight NCAA Regional Championship and once again heads to the NCAA Men's Wrestling Championships. After making easy work of his first two matches on day one, Wilson found himself squaring off against Roanoke's Mark Samuel in a thrilling match that saw Wilson emerge the 13-10 victor.
In the championship, Wilson was pitted against the NCAA number one wrestler in the 141-pound class, Jacob Reed (Ohio Northern). Reed, who Wilson defeated in the NCAA Championship last season, has been ranked number one for the majority of the season, and gave Wilson one of his biggest challenges of the year. Wilson emerged victorious, 7-3, en route to also claiming his third regional tournament Most Outstanding Wrestler designation of his career.
