Lewis, a freshman from Pleasant Garden, N.C., has proved to be a leader for the Pride women’s basketball team through the first seven games of her collegiate career.
Lewis currently boasts a team-leading nine points per game, while averaging 3.6 rebounds per game.
Lewis started her career with a 17-point game against crosstown rival Guilford College before being named to the Randolph-Macon Tip-off Classic All-Tournament team after recording a team-leading 15 points against the host Yellow Jackets.
Lewis then averaged eight points per game over the next two games before recording yet another double-digit performance against Salem College.
“I think Katie is going to be a big impact to our program for years to come,” Head Women’s Basketball Coach Randy Tuggle said. “She is still in her learning curve but producing.
“We are fortunate to have someone like Katie, and I look forward to seeing her grow even more in our program.”
