Steve Johnson

Head Coach Steve Johnson is making a triumphant return to his role, bringing with him an illustrious history at Greensboro College. His initial tenure with the college in the early 90s proved to be highly significant, culminating in a remarkable achievement – clinching the DIAC Conference Championship in 1992. During his leadership, the team made an impressive mark by securing consecutive qualifications for the NCAA Division III National Tournament for three consecutive years. These accomplishments earned him the prestigious recognition of being named DIAC Coach of the Year twice.

Beyond his remarkable success in terms of titles and accolades, Johnson's coaching prowess shines through in his development of three outstanding All-American players, namely Jared Spencer, John Rogers, and Graham Andrews. Notably, Graham Andrews also garnered the distinction of being named National Freshman of the Year.

Steve Johnson's journey at Greensboro College is a testament to his enduring connection with the institution. Prior to his coaching career, he donned the uniform as a member of the Pride Men's Golf Team, where he played under the guidance of the legendary coach Jim Locke. Johnson's contributions to the team were instrumental in securing the program's second conference championship in 1978.

Johnson was recently inducted into the Greensboro College Athletics Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2025.
