Stephen Widenhouse enters his fourth year as Director of Sports Information. Hired in November of 2023, Widenhouse came to Greensboro College with previous sports information experience at Pfeiffer University and Catawba College. Widenhouse is the primary sports information contact for all sports at Greensboro College.
During his tenure at Greensboro College, Widenhouse has helped enhance live streams of home athletic events, strengthened the athletic program's social media presence through content creation, kept live stats, staffs gameday operation positions, maintains the athletics website, has created media guides and game programs, and began the "Getting to Know" podcast, featuring student-athletes and coaches. Widenhouse also helped begin the program's "Greensboro College Athletics Live" show featuring guests from around campus and the community.
A graduate of Pfeiffer University with a B.A. in Sport Management while earning a minor in Athletic Coaching, Widenhouse served his alma mater as an Assistant SID in 2018 and served in the same role at Catawba College for an additional two years. From August 2021 through October 2023, Widenhouse accepted responsibilities as the Athletic Director for Arborbrook Christian Academy in Matthews, NC.
Earlier in his career, he served as an assistant baseball coach at Albemarle High School while also handling the Social Media Coordinator duties for Stanly County Legion Baseball. Widenhouse also has experience keeping stats for NCAA Division I and Division II contests, including basketball, baseball, softball, and soccer.
