Shannon McGovern enters her first season as an assistant coach for the Pride in 2026. McGovern currently serves as Operations Manager for WPSL PRO, an organization built on the foundation of the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL), one of the largest women's soccer organizations in the United States.
McGovern will assist the Pride in all technical and tactical aspects of the program, while also contributing to recruiting, player development, and analytics.
"We are thrilled to add Shannon to our staff," said Head Coach Mike Johnston. "She is an outstanding role model, has a tremendous soccer IQ, and brings a unique perspective through her experience on both the playing and business sides of the game. Her knowledge, professionalism, and ability to analyze the game will be tremendous assets to our players and our program."
McGovern played collegiately at High Point University, where she was a key contributor for the Panthers before injuries ended her career prematurely. Prior to her collegiate career, she competed at the club level for both NYFC as well as World Class.
McGovern graduated from High Point University in 2025 with a degree in administration and minors in both mathematics and entrepreneurship.
