Williams enters his fifth year with the Pride as Head Athletic Trainer. He also begins his third year as the Assistant AD for Sports Medicine overseeing both Athletic Training and Sports Performance. Williams has worked as the primary AT for football, women's basketball, softball, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, and triathlon over the course of his first four years at GC. During his first year, he worked as the primary AT for football, women's basketball, softball, and men's lacrosse. Prior to coming to Greensboro he did a brief stint with OrthoNC as an Athletic Trainer where he primarily worked with the football program at Louisburg College in Spring 2021. Williams served a variety of other teams in a packed Spring schedule in postseason soccer and wrestling events in the eastern half of North Carolina. Williams also provided physical therapy in acute, chronic, and post-operative care at three office locations in the region.
Williams spent nearly six years as the Assistant Director of Campus Recreation and Wellness for Athletic Training and Risk Management at Elon University. Williams was responsible for athletic training procedures for Elon's club sports program and performing arts department in addition to other departments across campus, benefiting the general student body. The chairman of the risk management committee in the department, Williams oversaw the implementation of employee assistance programs and safety trainings across campus, including CPR classes for all staff. Williams also served as a facilitator for the BASICS program and as an instructor for the University's Elon 101 class, teaching first-year students the basics of the institution.
Published in several studies, as a professional, Williams gained his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) he was a tutor and a teaching assistant. He has since served as a preceptor for his alma mater, UNCG's MSAT program, and High Point University's MSAT program. As a preceptor, he supervises master-level students in their completion of assigned clinical rotations and provides feedback in their performance with patients.Â
In addition, Williams has provided PRN medical coverage for the Greensboro United Soccer Association and the Phenom Hoops Report National High School Showcase since 2018 and has served as a security officer for Cone Health.
Williams is a licensed athletic trainer in the state of North Carolina and a certified instructor for the American Red Cross. Williams is a former chairman for the DEI committee of the North Carolina Athletic Trainers Association and carries a strength and conditioning certification (CSCS) in addition to his CPR/AED, first aid, and life support certifications. Originally from Louisburg, N.C., Williams resides in McLeansville, N.C. with his wife, Laura.
