Pat Williams

Pat Williams was named Greensboro College's head men's and women's tennis coach in October 2020.
 
Williams, a North Carolina native and 1996 graduate of Greensboro College, returns to the Pride’s head spot after serving in the same role from 1999-2004. During that time, Williams helped guide the Pride women’s tennis team to the best record in program history (17-3), while also coaching the Pride’s Marnie Greenblatt to the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2001.
 
Williams, who has been a leader in the Greensboro tennis community for nearly three decades, is a PTR certified teaching professional and has also served as the director and head professional for several local tennis clubs including Lake Jeanette Swim & Racquet Club, Cardinal Country Club, and Sedgefield Country Club.
 
In 2017, Williams founded Pat’s Tennis Aces, which is a full-service tennis management company that has helped grow the sport of tennis within some of the most well-known properties in the Triad, including the Grandover Resort. With his work as the CEO and founder, Williams’ organization has worked closely with GRETA and RCTA (two local USTA Community Tennis Associations) to provide tennis outreach programs and clinics for the Guilford and Rockingham County areas.
 
During his time as a student-athlete at Greensboro College, Williams was a member of the men’s basketball and men’s tennis teams where he was named to the Dixie Intercollegiate Conference (USA South) All-Academic team. In addition, Williams was inducted into the Greensboro College Athletics Hall of Fame in 2006 as a member of the 1993-1994 men’s basketball team, while also being inducted into the Union Pine High School Hall of Fame for winning the 1991 N.C. tennis state championship.
