Greensboro College Pride

Sophia, the daughter of Martin and Christine Walter, traveled to Greensboro College as an exchange student from Germany and became a trailblazer on Head Coach Karen Buxton's inaugural Triathlon Team.

Even though Sophia was known for her Handball expertise and skiing the mountains of Austria, the opportunity to swim, bike, and run distances was too appetizing for Sophia, as she made the worldly move to become a groundbreaking athlete at Greensboro College. Sophia will compete in her first events on September 3rd and 4th in Greensboro and Wingate, NC respectively. 

Professionally, Sophia has been educated in the field of Special Education in her home country, and looks forward to helping children dealing with learning disabilities. Teaching these young boys and girls on becoming self-sufficient, and enjoying a quality life is of catamount importance to Sophia.
