GREENSBORO, NC- Volleyball's Morgan Mayfield and Men's Golf's Watcharakan Chankarn have been named the inaugural Greensboro College Athletes of the Week for the 2025-26 season.

Mayfield, the reigning USA South Libero of the Year thanks to a prolific season, picked up exactly where she left off in the first two volleyball matches of the season. The senior tallied 34 digs on Saturday, recording 19 against St. Mary's College of Maryland and another 15 against Warren Wilson. The performance vaulted her into eighth place in career digs, and she sits just a single dig behind seventh place. She also recorded four service aces. 

Volleyball has a pair of road contests this week, at Guilford on Friday and at Clinton on Saturday.

Chankarn won the Transylvania Invitational in Lexington, KY over the weekend, becoming the first Greensboro golfer to win an event since Andreas Huber won in Lexington in 2022.

Chankarn opened his weekend with a 74 in the opening round, before following it up with a stellar 65 Saturday afternoon that vaulted him into first place. The afternoon round saw him shoot four consecutive birdies from the 9th to the 12th hole. He finished with a one-under 71, good for a -6 tournament score. Chankarn was the only golfer to finish below par, and the team finished seventh overall.

Golf returns to action September 15-16 at the Gate City Invitational in Greensboro.
