Greensboro, NC - The Greensboro women's lacrosse team opened up conference play on Tuesday at home against Meredith and fell 24-1.
The Avenging Angels, the reining USA South Conference Champions, took over from the start by scoring twelve first quarter goals. The Pride were able to get on the board in the second quarter on a free position goal by
Brynly ManWaring.
From there Meredith continued to control the game and would shutout the Pride the rest of the way. For Greensboro,
Keira Fenyo led the team in ground balls with four while also having a caused turnover. ManWaring,
Alexandra Carefoot, and
Rosanna Espinosa-Ponce all had two draw controls each.
In goal,
D'Kayla Thomasson got the start and had three saves while
Carly Walton had two.
The Pride are back in action on the road this Saturday when they take on Piedmont for an 11:00 am contest.
