Raleigh, NC - Greensboro women's lacrosse picked up a big USA South Conference win on Saturday by defeating William Peace 13-10.
Brynly ManWaring scored a career high tying six goals on the game to lead Greensboro. She would score the first two Pride goals in the first quarter, while
Keira Fenyo also scored two first quarter goals.
Greensboro scored three goals in the second, while holding the Pacers to just two and took a one goal lead into the halftime break. Both teams scored two goals in the third quarter, as the teams were still separated by one goal heading into the fourth.
The Pride stepped up in the final period, scoring four goals and holding William Peace to just two to secure their second win of the year and first in conference play.
Outside of ManWaring and Fenyo,
Rosanna Espinosa-Ponce scored two goals while
Regan Dailey and
Alexandra Carefoot each scored one. ManWaring, Espinosa-Ponce, and Carefoot all had one assist.
Espinosa-Ponce led the team with four ground balls while she, ManWaring, and
Genesis Chinchilla had three caused turnovers.
D'Kayla Thomasson got the win in goal, her second win of the season.
Greensboro will travel to Warren Wilson for a non-conference contest on Wednesday at 5:00 pm.
