Mount Olive, NC - Greensboro College Women's Wrestlng competed in the Trojan Duals at Mount Olive University on Sunday, and sophomore
Kyra Tomlinson turned in a dominant day on the mat.
In the 138lb class, Tomlinson went 3-0 with three clear cut victories. Against Norwich's Nalani Portela-Bailey, Tomlinson earned a 10-0 tech fall win. In her next match against Brewton Parker's Tiana Fries, Tomlinson won by fall in just 15 seconds. In her third and final match, she defeated Kalyse Hill of Mount Olive by tech fall 14-3. Tomlinson is currently ranked 17th nationally in the 138lb weight class according to The Open Mat, and third regionally by the NWCA.
Other Pride wrestlers also had good showings, as Brianna Davis earned a win via fall in her match against Norwich, while
Minnie Locklear earned a win via fall against Brewton Parker.
Alyssa Wasmund also earned a win against Brewton Parker, while
Genesis Chinchilla took home a victory in the 145lb class by fall against Svannah Chesney of Mount Olive.
Greensboro will compete again at the Wasps Open on December 12th.
