Fayetteville, NC - The Greensboro Women's Lacrosse team took on Methodist University on Tuesday in their first appearance in the USA South Conference Tournament since 2019. The Pride were defeated 23-3, as the Monarchs came in as the #1 seed in the tournament.
Methodist jumped out to an early lead and didn't let up as they had control throughout the game. Greensboro got two goals from
Grace Dobson and another by
Rosanna Espinosa-Ponce. Ponce was also named co-offensive player of the week by the Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association earlier on Tuesday.
Despite the loss, the Pride made great strides this year by winning four games and three in conference play. The team won their last three games of the year to earn the #6 seed in the tournament. Earlier this week, Espinosa-Ponce was named USA South Player of the Week, which is the first player of the week award for the team this season.
