Greensboro, NC – The weather could not have been better for Wednesday's USA South doubleheader between the Greensboro College Softball team and Southern Virginia University.  The seats at Barber Park were full and the fans were not disappointed as both teams earned a win for a split, as the Knights prevailed in the first game, 4-3, while the Pride's Senior Jenna Endsley (Concord, NC) pitched her first career collegiate complete game and shutout for the win, 2-0.

Game One

Greensboro took an early lead as Junior Alexis Scott (Burlington, NC) hit an RBI single to center field, which drove in Sophomore Madison Dillner (Leicester, NC).  However, in the top of the fifth inning Southern Virginia answered with four straight runs to grab the advantage, 4-1.  The Pride would battle back behind two plays from Dillner, to trim the lead to one run, but Greensboro was unable to complete the comeback and would fall, 4-3.

The Pride were led by Dillner who finished 3-3 with two runs, while Senior Kailey Walker (Eden, NC) was 2-4 with one run.

Game Two

Endsley took the mound and had complete control of her pitches, and was even able to get out of any jams she was in.  In addition, she received support from Sophomore Brooklyn Rush (Asheboro, NC) and Junior Faith Mabe (Rural Hall, NC) who each hit RBI singles to right field, to secure the shutout win over the Knights, 2-0.

Offensively, Sophomore Kelsey Craven (Ramseur, NC) led Greensboro finishing 2-2 with a run, while Junior Olivia Hudson (Sanford, NC) was 2-3 with a run.  On the mound, Endsley went the distance, striking out four batters to earn the complete game win and shutout.

The Pride return to action on Saturday, April 8^th as they host Meredith College on "Bringing Back Barber" Day.  First pitch is scheduled for 1:00pm.
