Wilson Wins MOW as Pride Compete at Ithaca Invitational

Ithaca, NY - The Greensboro Men's Wrestling team competed at the Ithaca Invitational on Friday and Saturday in their second tournament of the season. Junior Josh Wilson took home the championship in the 141 pound weight class, along with being awarded the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament. 

The tournament began on Friday as Wilson defeated against Joseph Rocco of Castleton in round one, and then took down Will Musante in the second round to advance to the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinals match, Wilson was able to defeat Robert Palmieri, advancing him to the semifinals.

In the semifinal match, Wilson took on Noah Hunt from Pennsylvania College and was able to defeat Hunt to earn a spot in the finals. Wilson's opponent in the finals would be James Rodriguez, another opponent from Castleton. Wilson would defeat Rodriguez in sudden victory, giving the Pride wrestler the championship crown in the 141 pound class. 

Afterwards, Wilson was awarded with the MOW award, adding to the already impressive career resume that Wilson has put together at Greensboro.

Overall the Pride finished 9th overall with 38 points. Next up for Greensboro is the Mountaineer Open at Appalachian State University next Saturday.
