Chapel Hill, NC - The Greensboro Pride Men's Wrestling team had a historic day for the program as they traveled to UNC Chapel Hill to face off against three Division I opponents in the Chapel Hill Duals. Greensboro faced off against #20 Oregon State, #25 North Carolina, and Queens University of Charlotte.
Pride head coach
Justin Harty was a four time NCAA All-American at North Carolina, and he expressed his gratitude for Greensboro to participate in the Chapel Hill Duals. Coach Harty said, "We thank Rob Koll and #25 UNC for having us at this Quad-match with Queens and the #20 Oregon State Beavers! What a great opportunity for our guys to wrestle some of the toughest guys in the country!"Â
SeniorÂ
Josh Wilson, from Southeast Guilford High School, scored two individual wins on the day over Derek Guanajuato of UNC and Anatah Manibushan of Queens. Wilson is coming off of a 2022-2023 campaign that saw him become the Pride's first ever wrestler to win an ODAC Conference title.
Coach Harty looks to continue to build the Pride's Men's Wrestling program this season with a mix of young talent and experienced wrestlers.
The team travels to New York this weekend as they participate in the Ithaca Invitational on Friday and Saturday as the team looks to build momentum for the new season.
