STAUNTON, Va.--Greensboro's men's and women's tennis teams faced off with Mary Baldwin in conference play on Wednesday afternoon. The Squirrels defeated the Pride 6-3 on the men side and 9-0 on the women's.

For the men in singles action, Sam Kruse improved to 2-0 on the season, with a 3rd set victory of 6-4, 4-6, 12-10.  Deutsch then gained his first win of the season in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.  Hector Rodriguez got his first career win in a straight set win of 7-5, 6-2.

On the women's side, the team improved since their last match.  Freshman Jada Ore continues to improve, falling in a nail biter of three sets 7-5, 6-7, 7-10.

Head Coach Pat Williams said after the match, "Both our men's and women's teams fought hard in the windy conditions today, but came up short.  I'm super proud of both teams as they continue to show improvement each match.  The biggest surprise was Hector Rodriguez, who moved up in the line today to pull of a straight set victory!"

Greensboro men's and women's teams host Averett on Saturday, April 2 to tangle with the Cougars. Start time is set to 10:30 a.m.
