Swimming Sets New Times at William Peace & Pfeiffer

RALEIGH, N.C.---Greensboro College's Spencer George lead the men's and women's swimming teams with a second-place finish as the Pride dropped two non-conference contests with William Peace and Pfeiffer. The men fell to the Pacers, 124-25, and the women dropped a contest to William Peace, 102-12, and Pfeiffer, 104-10.

George scored his second-place finish in the men's 100-yard freestyle event, posting a time of 51.80 seconds. The mark stands as the seventh-best finish in school history and is a reduction of  2.02 seconds from yesterday's time. He also placed third in the 2000-yard freestyle with a time of 1:56.80, which stands sixth all-time in school history.

Ethan Wilson claimed a third-place finish in the men's 50-yard freestyle, posting a time of 24.21 seconds, a reduction of .36 seconds from yesterday's time. Wilson also placed fifth in a tightly-contested men's 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.51 seconds.

Tess Perdue led the Greensboro women with a finish in the women's 50-yard freestyle with a time of 35.73 seconds. She also posted a 1:20.39 finish in the women's 100-yard freestyle. Perdue finished out her effort by completing the women's 200-yard freestyle, posting a time of 2:57.23

The Pride women return to the pool Saturday, February 13th with a 1:00 p.m. Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) meet against cross-town rival Guilford College inside the Royce Reynolds Center Pool. The men will re-join the women on Saturday, February 20th at Emory & Henry College for a 1:00 p.m. ODAC meet.
