Women's Swimming Falls at Emory & Henry

EMORY, Va.---Greensboro College's Spencer George and Ethan Wilson combined for five event victories as the Pride dropped a Saturday afternoon Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) meet with Emory & Henry College, 62-53. The women also fell to Emory & Henry, 116-8.

George claimed victories in all three of the meets he raced on the afternoon. George won the men's 50-yard freestyle, posting a time of 25.90 seconds. George earned a 1.82 second victory over Emory & Henry's Ryan Spangler. George claimed victory in the 100-yard freestyle later in the meet, winning the event with a time of 1:01.06. After winning the first 50 yards, Spangler gained on George by .14 seconds, but George's .73 second cushion in the first 50 yards was enough to earn the victory. George also claimed victory in the 200-yard individual medley, posting a time of 2:28.89. George gained .85 seconds in the second 50 yards and then gained .26 seconds in the final 50 yards to earn his third victory.

Wilson earned his first win in the 100-yard butterfly, posting a time of 1:07.63. Wilson sped past Emory & Henry's Blake Madaris in the final 50 yards, posting a 5.63-second advantage in the final split of the race. This came after Wilson claimed a 2.84-second lead in the first 50-yards. Wilson also claimed victory in the 100-yard backstroke, posting a finish of 1:10.49. Wilson jumped to a 2.19-second lead in the first 50 yards and then added another 2.10 seconds of distance in the final 50 yards.

Tess Perdue led the Greensboro women with a third-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle, posting a time of 41.31 seconds, She also placed third in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:48.03. Perdue earned a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle, posting a time of 3:07.96.

The Pride now shift their focus to the ODAC Championship meet, taking place the weekend of March 5-7 on the Liberty University campus in the Lynchburg, Va.
