Pride face Wasps and Panthers

RESULTS

The Greensboro College swimming teams traveled to Emory, Virginia to face Ferrum College and Emory & Henry College. The men split on the evening, defeating the Panthers 64-31 before falling to the Wasps 125-38. The women fell to the Panthers, 74-67, and the Wasps, 114-32.

Cole Haines got the evening started for the men's side as he took first in 800-Meter Free with a time of 10:17.03. Spencer George tallied the second win for Greensboro in the 50 Free, stopping the clock at 25.59. Haines also swam the race in 28.67.

Ethan Wilson's first race of the day came in the 100 Fly as he finished with a time of 1:07.61. Wilson later placed second in the 100 Back as he completed the race in 1:11.56. George finished right behind his teammate in third place (1:11.63).

Haines and Wilson rounded out the evening for the Pride in the 100 Breast. Haines finished third overall (1:18.96) while Wilson placed sixth (1:26.68).

For the women, the quartet of Kilee Kemp, Virginia Hufschmitt, Katrina O'Neill and Gabrielle Hunker swam in the 200 Medley Relay and placed second with a time of 2:40.02. The same combination took part in the 200 Free Relay with a time of 2:26.16.

Hufschmitt began the individual part of her evening in the 200-Meter Free as she placed second overall with a time of 3:09.13. The freshman placed second as well in the 400 Free (6:38.92).

In the 50 Free, O'Neill placed third (32.07) as Hunker finished right behind her in fourth (37.40). The duo finished in the exact same places in the 100 Free with times of 1:14.17 and 1:23.06, respectively.

Kemp swam in the 200 IM and placed second with a time of 3:01.95. The Amarillo, Texas native also finished second in the 100 Back, stopping the clock at 1:26.36.

Both the men and women will take part in the Pacer Invitational in Raleigh, North Carolina. The two-day event begins on Friday, November 19.
