GREENSBORO, N.C.----Five different Greensboro College wrestlers posted two wins as the Pride claimed a Friday evening victory over Allen University, 23-18, inside the Royce Reynolds Center Gym.
Josh Wilson posted a major decision and a pin on his 2-0 evening to post four points. Wilson earned a 16-4 decision in his first bout of the evening against Allen's Nyshaad Hannon in the 133-pound weight class. Wilson also claimed a pin against Chance Carter later on in the evening.
Hai Siu earned a 6-4 decision over Shemar Washington in his 149-pound weight class bout to earn three points. Siu finished the night 2-0 with a decision, 4-3, over Allen's Shemar Washington in a cross-weight class bout.
Joel Kanagy posted a 2-0 night as he posted a fall over Christian Poplous in the 184-pound weight class and earned a second pin against Poplus in the rematch in individual competition.
Brandon Williams scored six points for the Pride with a heavyweight victory in the 285-pound weight class over Harry Locklear, pinning his opponent from Allen in 4:18 for the six-point victory. Williams and Locklear tangled again in individual competition later in the evening with Williams earning his second pin of the night.
Mike Jones earned a 14-5 major decision over Nequel Martin for Allen to post four points for the Pride at the 174-pound weight class bout while
Tony Locke earned a technical fall win at the 149-pound weight class over Wayne Taylor in individual competition.
The Pride (1-2) return to action next Friday, traveling to Bluefield, Va. for a tri-meet against Bluefield College and Emory & Henry College beginning at 7 p.m.
