Women's Lacrosse Falls In USA South Quarterfinals Against Piedmont 15-10

DEMOREST, Ga. – The Greensboro College women's lacrosse team fell to the Lions of Piedmont College in the quarterfinal round of the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament Tuesday 15-10.
 
Piedmont jumped out to a 2-0 lead over the first four minutes before Murphie Davis got Greensboro on the board for the first time with her eighth goal of the season.
 
The Lions then extended their lead to 5-1 but Morgan Montgomery struck the back of the net for the Pride with 14:51 showing on the clock to pull within three goals.
 
However, Piedmont outscored Greensboro 4-2 over the final 14 minutes of the half to take a 9-4 lead into halftime. Kara Whitson was credited with both Pride goals while Logan Schnabl had one assist.
 
In the second half, Piedmont led 13-6 with 12 minutes to show before the Pride went on a 4-1 run to pull within four goals. Madison Blashaw tallied two of Greensboro's goals, while Montgomery and Whitson struck once again.
 
Despite pulling to within 14-10, Greensboro was unable to get any closer and fell by the five-goal margin.
 
Sada Hollowell took the loss in goal despite recording 10 saves.
