Men's and Women's Tennis Falls At Averett

Box Score 1 DANVILLE, Va. – The Greensboro College men's and women's tennis teams fell to the Cougars of Averett University Tuesday by a 9-0 score.
 
Men's Match
Greensboro found themselves trailing 3-0 heading into singles play.
 
In singles action, Phillip Deutsch fell by scores of 6-1 and 6-0 at the No. 1 spot while Carlos Barragan suffered a 6-4 defeat in the first set before falling in the second set in a tiebreaker at No. 2.
 
Paul Bauberger and Landon Murray also competed for the Pride.
 
Women's Match
Greensboro fell at the No.2 and No.3 doubles positions by 8-1 scores while suffering an 8-0 setback at the No. 1 spot.
 
In singles play, Haley Griffin lost a tightly contested match at the No.2 spot. Griffin fell in the first set by a 6-4 score before falling 6-3 in Set 2.
 
Anna Rae Porcelli, Hunter Cashion, Alexis Chase, and Raven Green each picked up a game win in their respective matches.
