Box Score WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Greensboro College women's lacrosse team defeated the Spirits of Salem College to open USA South Athletic Conference season Wednesday 15-9.
 
"We simply got it done today," Head Coach Kevin Birmingham said. "You could tell we trusted one another on the field, improved in the fundamental areas needed from the first two games, and had a 'refuse to lose' attitude.
 
"It was a total team effort, and the girls played with nothing but heart and grit. The coaching staff and team has agreed, while we are definitely happy for this win, we cannot be satisfied! Therefore, while there were plenty of mistakes that were still made today, these are all things that we know we can fix to achieve our goals as a program this year and the future."
