GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College tennis teams fell to the Cougars of Averett University on senior day.
The women fell by a 7-2 score, while the men fell, 9-0.
Prior to the start of the matches, the Pride recognized their lone senior,
Rachel Hamilton.
In women's action, Greensboro dropped their three doubles matches before securing two points in singles action.
Anna Rae Porcelli won by identical scores of 6-3, while Hamilton tallied a win at No.6 in three sets. Hamilton dropped her opening set by a 7-5 score before winning the next two by scores 6-3 and 10-3.
In men's action,
Kevin Nickel,
Daniel Christian,
Jared Heller,
Gabriel Reynosa and
Torian Bullock won at least one game in their respective singles matches.
"Rachel has had a great senior season," Head Coach
Gus Mota said. "It was great to see her pick up a win in her final match and go out on a high note.
"We really appreciate everything she has done for our tennis program over the past four years and she will be missed."
