LAGRANGE, Ga. – The Greensboro College women's lacrosse team saw their 2018 season come to an end Friday with a loss to the Angels of Meredith College in the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament semifinals, 24-6.
The Angles scored the game's first 12 goals before
Kara Whitson got the Pride on the board with a free position goal.
Following the Whitson goal, Meredith scored once again but Whitson and
Peyton Joyce struck for one goal each over the next three minutes to make the score 13-3.
Over the next 12 minutes of play, Meredith was able to add on to their lead before Whitson completed the hat trick with 21:09 showing on the second half clock.
Meredith then went on to take the 18-goal victory.
Madison Blashaw and Joyce scored goals for Greensboro over the 15 minutes.
"We had a great lacrosse season," head coach
Jena Miller said. "I could not be more proud of these girls and the obstacles they have overcome this season. They worked hard and came together as a team and it really showed.
"Our seniors will truly be missed and I thank them for all of their hard work."
