GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College men's tennis team fell to the Falcons of Pfeiffer University Saturday, 7-2.
After the Pride dropped two doubles matches, the doubles team of
Kevin Nickel and
Torian Bullock got Greensboro on the board with an 8-1 win at No.3.
Following singles play, Nickel was able to tally a win at No.6 singles. Nickel won the opening set, 6-3, before dropping the second set by and identical score, setting up a third-set tiebreaker. In the tiebreaker, Nickel took command early and won 10-4.
Jared Heller,
Ryan Mule,
Gabriel Reynosa and
Carlos Barragan won at least one game in their respective singles matches.
"I am proud of my guys, and especially of Kevin as they were able to take two points from a tough Pfeiffer team," head coach
Gus Mota said. "As I keep saying, the guys continue to work hard and it is really starting to show."
