GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College softball team swept a USA South Athletic Conference double-header against Mary Baldwin by identical 8-0 scores.
The Pride (23-13, 10-8 USA South) scored four runs in the third inning of Game 1 before adding two runs in the fourth and sixth innings.
Sarah Tompkins and
Sarah Connolly each recorded two RBIs, while Brittany Rush,
Mandi Ballard,
Allyson Yeager, and
Kierstin Mckenna had one RBI each.
Kali Puckett, Tompkins, Connolly, and Ballard each had a team-high two hits, while Yeager, Rush, Mckenna, and Hall recorded one hit.
Maddy Wetherholt picked up the win.
Greensboro took a 1-0 lead in the second inning before scoring the game's final seven runs in the fifth and sixth innings combined. Hall and Yeager each had three RBIs, while Tompkins recorded one.
Hall and Yeager finished with a team-high three hits, while Tompkins had one hit.
Dawn Harris picked up the win.
