Women's Lacrosse Fell to Sewanee, 24-20

The Greensboro College women's lacrosse team dropped to Sewanee: The University of the South, 24-20, on Sunday, March 22nd.

In the first half, The Pride scored nine goals by the sixth minute. Amira Khatib scored in the 27th minute off an assist from Ashlynn Parks, followed by Kirstin Norris scoring on a free position shot in the 20th minute. One minute later Natalie Ritchey scored off a pass from Nadya Fedun before Ritchey scored with the assist from Norris.

In the 14th and 13th minute, Ritchey scored back to back goals. The first goal Alexa Besch received the assist and Norris received the assist from the second goal.

In the ninth minute, Besch scored on a free position shot followed by Ritchey scoring again off a pass from Parks. The last goal came from Norris off a free position shot. Going into the second half, Greensboroo was down 12-9.

The Pride went on a 11-goal rally trying to capture the win the second half but fell short.

Norris led the team in goals for the half with six, followed by Parks scoring three. Fedun and Amira scored one goal apiece in the second half.

For the game, Norris led the team in goals with eight followed by Ritchey scoring five. Parks, Ritchey, and Norris had two assists while Besch and Fedun threw one assist each. Kaleigh Hemstock took the loss for Greensboro in net making 10 saves off 34 shots attempted. 

The team is back home on Tuesday, March 24th to play Centre College at 3 p.m.
