Last Season's Meeting: Touchdown returns on back-to-back punts by Kentel Noel helped give Christopher Newport a 27-0 lead en route to a 37-7 win over Greensboro. The Pride responded to the returns with their lone touchdown of the day but were unable to climb out of the early deficit. The Captains held a sizable advantage in total yards, 346-112, and time of possession, 40:34-19:26. Senior Brian Green had a stellar game for the Greensboro defense with 16 tackles, including 3.5 for losses of 19 yards. Allen Stallings added eight tackles on the day. The victory moved Christopher Newport to 3-4 overall and into first place in the USA South standings at 3-1, while Greensboro fell to 1-6 overall and 0-4 in the conference.
